if you are talking about complementary angle then understand it like this
suppose there is an angle say 30<sup>o</sup> now 90<sup>o</sup> - 30<sup>o</sup> = 60<sup>o</sup>
so, 60<sup>o</sup> is complementary angle of angle 30<sup>o</sup>
